The 5 C's of Credit
Todd Strong, a commercial loan officer with First Heritage Federal Credit Union, was a recent presenter at our BNI Works meeting.
Todd talked about the 5 C’s of Credit:
- Capacity - what is the ability to repay? Your sales projection, business plan?
- Capital - are you investing some of your own money in your business? Equity? SBA Loan?
- Collateral - what equipment do you have on hand to if needed to help repay the loan
- Conditions - What are the market conditions, rules and refs to support this business?
- Character - credit score, background, history and general feel all go into this evaluation, looking at the whole picture
